| Event Description |
Cities throughout the world face the challenge of adapting to the demands of sustainable development. Fundamental to this challenge is the need to establish sustainable energy solutions, urban structures and modes of living that diminish the use of energy while at the same time increasing democracy and quality of life. Sweden proposes an international ideas competition for sustainable integrated solutions for cities beyond oil. The purpose is to find new and innovative ideas for how cities can be planned in a sustainable way and to raise awareness and stimulate interest in tackling these issues among key actors. This event will present and discuss the plans for the competition. It is directed at city representatives, planners, students and all other interested in sustainable cities.
